Except Jake would probably describe his life as the "worst of times" right now. Poor buddy woke up on Friday morning with a 103.5 temperature.
Yowzers!
I didn't remember ever having a fever like that myself so we headed to the doctor to make sure it wasn't an ear infection. (With lovey blanket and microphone rattle firmly in grip)
And of course it wasn't. Once again, I paid $20 to hear "Motrin and rest". When am I going to learn???
It's times like this when it would pay to have an MD in the family. Because apparently our doctor friends don't like to be bugged 24/7 with my questions. Which I think is just plan rude! ;)
By the time we got to the doctor, his fever was back down to normal so we headed to the lake as planned for the weekend. Except that after every 4-6 hours (Tylenol/Motrin dosage time) his fever would spike again. So there was a lot of moaning, groaning, and clinging.
Saturday morning he woke up with the same 103.5 temperature and took a 3 hour nap. And to top it all off, when he woke UP from his nap, he proceeded to puke all over the other kid's toys.
Needless to say, we decided our lake weekend was over.
His temperature is finally down today but you wouldn't know it by the way he is acting. Of course I feel bad for him, but the pathetic-ness is almost a little amusing. He has forgotten how to sit, crawl, and stand. You sit him on the floor and he falls over and crys. You can imagine my nervousness for the years to come!
And of course we are just BAFFLED as to where he got this personality. We are both so tough and non-dramatic ourselves so it's truly a mystery.
Here's to a fever-free week and a sudden recall of motor skills...

I am SO glad the fever is gone! And I have NO idea where he got his dramatic personality from :)
I can barely keep up with you these days! I'm so sorry about your little guy! That's rough!
Just copied and pasted your chicken enchilada ring recipe and printed it out. Yum!
