Or should I say first professional haircut. Because the last time I checked, I don't think dear ol' mom cutting off random chunks at random times counts.
Today we had a group haircut with our friends Blake and Jack. Jake has been long overdue for a serious trim and we had our new stylist Jenn come over to help us out! Mickey Mouse was on TV and he was playing with a toy drill so I'm not even sure Jake knew what was going on.
Warning: some seriously cute pictures are ahead. Do you notice how light his hair is getting? So many people have commented on the color lately...it's almost blond!

24 Weeks
It's starting to become a little more noticable that I'm pregnant. A complete stranger commented last week. Boo.
So here we are. And I apologize...I'd put a little more effort into scooting these 2 pictures closer together but it's Monday night and there are lots of things on TV. (left - Jake, right - baby #2)

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 24.5 Weeks
Size of Baby: Size of an ear of corn
Maternity Clothes: Almost there. Mostly with dress pants. I don't know if my students would appreciate the unbuttoned look.
Movement: Kiddo moves all the time. Much more than I remember Jake moving. Uh oh.
What I Miss: Having my body to myself.
Cravings: peanut butter, sweets, Coca Cola, cereal

Start Your Engines!
Jake has recently become attached to our neighbor's 4 wheeler. I mean, look at the guy...he's a natural!
Watch this video about 30,000 times and that's about how long he did donuts for. He'd swat my hand away if I tried to redirect the vehicle so now I've learned my lesson and just stay behind the camera.
I think this might be a perfect present from the Easter Bunny!

The Big Brother Blues
This morning before church we had a knock-down, drag out fight over wardrobe. I'll give you a hint who it involved.
Not me and not Seth.
Here's a portion of the tantrum. My neighbor commented that we might be hitting the terrible 2's a little early after some random displays of...well...tantrums while playing outside last week. My bigger worry is that this isn't a preview of the terrible 2's and they'll be that much worse! :)
Seth thinks this video is mean, but hey...you have to laugh!
Just be glad I didn't videotape the part where we had to put his super cute blue & white gingham button up shirt over this one.
Boys just do not understand that beauty is sometimes painful!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Do you see the squiggles? What, you can't read them? It's obvious we've got a budding artistic genius on our hands here.
What did YOU get for Valentine's? :)

How Many is Too Many??
After almost 2 years of unfulfilling my commitment to clean out our closet, I have decided to do something about it. Mark February 12, 2011 as a day for the record books.
And of course this is the one day all week Jake has decided not to take his usual 3-4 hour nap, so I may have to close up shop already.
But may I present you...
A portion of Seth's t-shirt collection.
How many is too many, you ask? Well, this particular stack includes 34 t-shirts. Just short sleeved. The long sleeved are in another pile (not pictured) along with undershirts, swimsuits, pajama pants, and athletic shorts.
My plan was to show him the pile and easily narrow this collection down to 10-12 good quality t-shirts.
Ha.
Ha.
Ha.
Goodwill is about to become the proud owners of 6 of them. SIX.
Sigh. Try again next year!

Smiles, Daddy's Awesome, and We Have a Name!
What? That subject line doesn't make complete sense?
First things first, I'm about 98% sure we've decided on a name for baby #2.
Except I can't tell you.
I have thrown out hundreds of names to Seth. Hundreds. And while he still doesn't stray from his "favorite" name, he won't commit to it either. I tried to explain to him that I neeeeed something to call this baby. To which he affectionately replied, "Baby". But that doesn't work for me folks. So I made the executive decision this weekend to start referring to baby as said name until he says otherwise. Because I've yet to hear any more good suggestions from him.
(Basically, this will be the name.)
(I think.)
So all of you can rest in peace knowing that we will be a little prepared come June.
Moving on.
Jake had some extra time with Daddy last week due to the big ice & snow storm in Houston. Except there wasn't any snow and I never saw any ice. BUT, it was enough for him to get an early release on Thursday and the day off on Friday! And I know I've mentioned this before, but Jake looooooves his daddy. And by loooooooooove and I mean loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove.
Get the picture?
He just clings to him when he's around. They are so sweet together and it gives me a little break in the meantime!
Snuggling with Daddy. You think he'd ever do this with me? Not a chance. (Seth wasn't asleep either...maybe he closed his eyes for dramatic effect?)
Playing (pants-less) with Daddy and Tucker. Tucker has some issues with personal space.
And because it's always so difficult to get a smiling picture of Jake, I was able to take full advantage when Seth was home to get a few. I'm kicking myself for some really cute ones that weren't in focus.
Kiddo loves the MegaBloks!Jake also does a good job of keeping himself occupied while I get ready in the morning. Today he was super interested in what was on the counter and since he's not tall enough to see, I got him situated a little more comfortably.
Looks can be deceiving...he may look cute but was also up to no good! :)We had a weather teaser yesterday when it warmed up and we could even wear short sleeves. But now it's back to being cold again. I don't know why I look forward to summer so much because I don't like the hot weather but I am getting a little tired of all the cold and layering our clothes.
Have a great week!
